Passion

I have a friend whose wife is taking a greater interest in photography.  She enjoys it and he wants to encourage her in her endeavors.  He asked me for some suggestions for a Mother's Day gift for her.  I was more than happy to talk about all things photography for as long as he would listen.  When he left my office he said, "Ames, I love the passion I see in you when you talk about this stuff!"

Wow!  I knew I loved it, but other people see it, too.  I knew that, too, but I didn't know to what extent.  Passion.  That is how he described it.  Photography has indeed become one of my passions lately.  I have a sense of urgency about it.  I want to devour every morsel I can about this craft.  I become obsessed with taking pictures or editing pictures or researching the best proofing methods or color correction or whatever I seem to be focused on right now (even focus itself). The fact that my friend came to me for advice, is taking that advice to purchase one of my favorite photographer tools (can't tell in case she reads), and notices and appreciates my passion validates what I'm doing in some way.

The passion is growing, the urgency is more pressing, and the best is yet to come!
